The Hummingbird Song
A poem by Julie Longhill April 21, 2021
THE RED-ORANGE AZALEA
DRAWS HER NEAR
FROM OUT OF THE BLUE
A HUMMINGBIRD APPEARS
FLOATING, BUZZING,
DIPPING AND DIVING
MAGICAL, MYSTICAL
THE HUMMINGBIRD SONG
SHE MAKES ME SMILE
AND BRINGS DELIGHT
SUCH A SMALL DAINTY CREATURE
ILLUMINATES MY SIGHT
FLOATING, BUZZING,
DIPPING AND DIVING
MAGICAL, MYSITICAL
THE HUMMINGBIRD SONG
AT THE END OF THE DAY
I WAIT FOR HER HERE
AND IF I AM BLESSED
THE HUMMINGBIRD APPEARS
